Officers from the Scarsdale Police Department responded to the intersection of Mamaroneck Road and Harvest Drive shortly after 5:45 a.m. on April 29, police said. Upon arrival, investigators found a Honda CRV in the intersection with “substantial damage” in the eastbound lane.

Investigators said that “it was apparent from the damage on the vehicle and on a nearby tree that the vehicle had been traveling westbound on Mamaroneck Road when it struck the tree, rolled and came to rest upright, facing north.” The airbags were deployed in the crash and the front seat was “adjusted very close to the steering wheel.”

While investigating the crash, an officer canvassed the area for any parties that may have been involved or witnessed the crash. The officer eventually located Mamaroneck resident Alexis Colchadoreyes, who was with a woman, near the intersection of Harvest Drive and Archer Lane.

Police said that officers called for backup, and upon arrival at the scene, they found Colchadoreyes struggling with the officers attempting to apprehend him. After he was put in handcuffs, Colchadoreyes continued to act belligerent and was shouting and cursing, investigators noted.

Colchadoreyes was arrested and taken to Scarsdale Police Headquarters, where he was charged with two counts of assault with intent to cause physical injury to a police officer, felonies, as well as misdemeanor counts of obstruction of governmental administration, resisting arrest and false personation.

Following his arraignment in Scarsdale Village Court, Colchadoreyes was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond. No return court date has been scheduled.
